About The Position

SpaceXSI is seeking an exceptional Android engineer for a small, high-impact team building an AI application. The role focuses on shaping cutting-edge mobile experiences and delivering user impact through strong technical execution and product judgment. The engineer will work on the most critical product or technical challenge at any given time.

Requirements

Experience with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and Flow.

Nice To Haves

Very strong product sense, including identifying problems in a live product and turning them into solutions that advance the business.
A proven track record of delivering projects in production apps.
Deep expertise in the Android stack and tooling, including Android Studio and Gradle.
Experience beyond Android, such as iOS, web, or backend development.
Understanding of analytics and data, and using metrics to measure impact and guide product decisions.
Solid understanding of the Android platform, including its strengths, limitations, and trade-offs.
Experience working on large-scale production apps with millions of daily active users.
Strong ownership, taking problems from idea through release.
Ability to work autonomously and recognize when to involve others.
Clear communication skills, including explaining trade-offs and decisions to engineers, designers, and product partners.
High craft standards, with a focus on intuitive experiences, performance, stability, and reliability.

Responsibilities

Craft delightful, intuitive user experiences that redefine how people interact with the app.
Pay close attention to pixels, animations, and interactions to create a seamless experience.
Build fast, highly performant systems.
Drive technical and product decisions in collaboration with designers and backend, iOS, and web engineers.
Own product quality, including running A/B tests, finding issues, and proactively making improvements.
Identify ways to improve the app using user feedback and personal experience with the app.
