About The Position

The Advanced Packaging Integration Group drives differentiated solutions from Lam to support customers’ heterogeneous integration product and process roadmaps through joint projects and integrated test vehicles with ecosystem partners. The Technology and Ecosystem Engagements Group enables a virtual integration center for Lam product groups and customer engagement teams to study and resolve challenging process integration problems and deliver product solutions for future customer roadmaps. The Senior Manager will expand Lam Research’s advanced packaging technology leadership and industry influence by leading complex joint development projects (JDPs) and research programs that create business value across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and business operations. The role partners with engineers, leaders across product groups and customer account teams, and external ecosystem leaders to coordinate a virtual integration center, accelerate decision-making and innovation, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen Lam’s competitive position. The role also represents Lam as a technology ambassador at industry conferences and symposiums. Lam offers work-location models according to role needs. Hybrid roles may be On-site Flex, working at least three days per week on-site and remotely for the balance, or Virtual Flex, working one to two days per week on-site and remotely for the rest of the time. Requirements

Master’s or PhD in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or chemical), materials science, applied physics, chemistry, or a related discipline.
10+ years of experience in process development, packaging integration, model-based problem solving, program management, or related business functions within a complex enterprise environment.
Strong understanding of advanced packaging technologies and integration, industry direction, and research initiatives.
Demonstrated experience partnering with senior executives and business stakeholders to define strategy, prioritize investments, and deliver business outcomes.
Experience managing cross-functional programs and influencing stakeholders in a global, matrixed organization.

Nice To Haves

Experience initiating, defining, and executing joint development projects with research institutes, industry consortia, and academic institutions.
Proven experience building and leading cross-functional or exploratory R&D or technology pathfinding teams and driving innovation strategy and execution.
Experience in the semiconductor, capital equipment, industrial technology, or advanced manufacturing industries.
Strong network across industry ecosystems and research communities.
Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous situations and make high-impact decisions with incomplete data to keep programs on track and on schedule.

Responsibilities

Build and lead a collaborative innovation ecosystem spanning materials suppliers, substrate vendors, OSATs, foundries, consortia, peer companies, universities, and research institutions.
Anticipate, define, and lead JDPs addressing technology inflections across AI, HPC, memory, and future advanced system architectures; define scope, objectives, success metrics, and milestones, and negotiate agreements.
Own JDP and collaboration outcomes, ensuring program schedules and performance metrics are met.
Review program schedules and performance metrics with regional experts.
Maintain a pipeline of ecosystem capabilities and opportunities with regional experts.
Capture, document, disseminate, and leverage program learnings across the organization.
Support and deliver test-vehicle needs for internal stakeholders across GPG, GCO, and other groups.
Initiate and drive multi-party collaborations across the 30+ partner network.
Represent Lam at industry conferences and symposiums to expand its network, influence, and branding.
Support mentoring and recruitment for the ecosystem team.
