BNSF is committed to reducing absolute scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, as well as the well-to-wheel GHG emissions associated with our locomotives, 30% by 2030 (from a baseline year of 2018). This air quality and carbon manager position is a unique opportunity to work with a diverse team of subject-matter experts across the organization to understand and advise on emissions issues impacting the business. In this position, you will work on criteria pollutant & carbon emissions calculations, policy, mitigation and grant programs. You will also work on future innovation projects related to next generation locomotive technologies, facility electrification, and other future innovations. You will work on projects that have visibility across the organization and at parent company Berkshire Hathaway. The ideal candidate will have railroad and/or other transportation experience, as well as technical expertise related to criteria pollutants and GHG emissions, as they relate to rail transportation.
