About The Position

The Sr Med Laboratory Scientist performs routine and complex analytic procedures on blood and other body fluids using manual techniques and laboratory instruments. The role ensures consistent, reliable results by maintaining quality and taking corrective and preventive actions when needed. It also contributes to applied research and development projects introducing new technologies and methods, and establishes and maintains standard work practices for laboratory operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Medical Technology, Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science, or another science.
• Three years of experience with progressive responsibility in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient to perform, teach, and lead laboratory functions.

Nice To Haves

• Certification at the technologist or medical/clinical laboratory scientist level from a nationally recognized agency, such as ASCP, NCA, ASM, AABB, ACS, or HEW.
