About The Position

Zurich North America is seeking a Senior Mass Litigation Claims Professional to join their Latent & Environmental Claims team. This role involves managing moderate to high-severity commercial liability claims, including toxic torts, latent injuries, and class action litigation with complex coverage and litigated issues. The position is part of a Mass Litigation team that handles complex, multi-year claims under various liability coverages, aiming to provide best-in-class service and expertise. The role requires managing claims from assignment to resolution with moderate direction, providing technical claims service on mostly litigated matters, identifying and mitigating risks, and delivering industry insights. Key responsibilities include policy interpretation, coverage analysis, managing counsel and vendors, collaborating with internal and external contacts, negotiation, claim resolution, and managing communications and reporting.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims and/or Litigation Management area.
OR Juris Doctor and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims and/or Litigation Management area.
OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including an associate degree with 6 or more years of experience in the Claims and/or Litigation Management area.
OR Completion of Zurich Claims Training Program and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims and/or Litigation Management area.
OR High School Diploma Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims and/or Litigation Management area.
Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s).
Microsoft Office experience.
Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets, and products.

Responsibilities

Manage moderate to high-severity commercial liability claims involving toxic torts, latent injuries, and class action litigation.
Handle complex, multi-year claims under CGL, umbrella, excess liability, employers’ liability, and other specialty coverages.
Manage each claim from assignment through resolution with moderate direction.
Provide technical claims service on mostly litigated matters of moderate to high-severity and complexity.
Identify and mitigate risks.
Deliver valuable industry insights.
Perform significant policy interpretation and coverage analysis.
Retain and manage counsel and other vendors.
Collaborate with internal and external contacts, including underwriters, customers, and brokers.
Negotiate and resolve claims.
Manage all communications and reporting during the life of a claim.
