About The Position

The Sr. Manufacturing Manager is a strategically important leader for the site, responsible for all aspects of production to ensure products are safe, meet all quality standards, delivered on time and in full, and at the right cost. As a key leader, they will ensure the site achieves its vision of being the premier site at Baxter for talent, innovation, and operational excellence. This role involves guiding the team to understand their contribution to the company's vision and mission to save and sustain lives. The position also influences and coordinates outside the facility to ensure teams and resources are aligned for effective execution of key manufacturing projects and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 10+ years manufacturing/operations experience.
  • 3 years of leading leaders.
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to effectively communicate—both verbally and in writing—in both languages.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Skilled in responding to inquiries or concerns from customers, regulatory agencies, and members of the business community in a professional and timely manner.
  • Strong professional writing and communication skills including reports, presentations, speeches, and articles, ensuring alignment with established style and format standards.
  • Proven capability to clearly present complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Lead multiple priorities in a manufacturing plant setting.
  • Analyze and draw conclusions from scientific and statistical data.
  • Apply data analysis to solve problems and make strategic decisions.
  • Understand GMPs and other applicable regulatory guidelines and ability to handle audit-related activities.
  • Strong assessment and troubleshooting skills, collecting and analyzing data/information to resolve paths for process improvement and potential root cause.
  • Ability to respond to detailed inquiries and present information to groups and senior leaders.
  • Validated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing business acumen.
  • Proven track record of meeting budgets, schedules, and performance requirements and holding others accountable to the same.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes, or recommends to management, major corporate manufacturing strategies, objectives, and policies.
  • Supports the rollout of a Total Predictive Maintenance program to minimize equipment failures.
  • Reviews production timetables and manages manufacturing activities to ensure schedule adherence and product quality.
  • Reviews manufacturing engineering performance reports and resolves technical and upkeep issues.
  • Directs preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares supporting documentation.
  • Drives value improvement programs.
  • Reviews production schedules to plan department operations based on product types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates.
  • Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Prepares operational schedules and coordinates production processes to meet quality and output specifications.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and addresses operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems.
  • Inspects machines and equipment for operational performance and optimum utilization through OEE.
  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers for compliance.
  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
  • Communicates at all Plant levels, interacting with the labor force to promote a teamwork environment.
  • Follows up on projects through completion.
  • Participates in area and plant meetings as requested.
  • Fills out area reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis as requested.
  • Fills out expense and allowance reports upon request.
  • Performs physical inventory and reconciles differences quarterly.
  • Develops areas budgetary requirements annually and forecasts quarterly.
  • Drives the team to achieve proposed goals in compliance with internal and external regulations and standards.
  • Performs weekly, monthly, and annual reports as required.
  • Ensures all audits are responded to on schedule.
  • Identifies and completes long-term strategic goals to ensure balanced competitive advantages by implementing operational strategies for predictive and consistent results and continuous improvement.
  • Identifies, initiates, and facilitates continuous improvements and lean manufacturing activities (e.g., 6S, visual management, kaizen).
  • Contributes to the implementation of quality initiatives such as internal and supplier performance metrics.
  • Develops and enhances managerial and leadership skills across the organization.
  • Develops teams and ensures personnel accountability.
  • Ensures regulatory knowledge and compliance.
  • Maintains Baxter’s commitment to high standards for compliance, passion, and business integrity.
  • Achieves consistent improvement of financial areas.
  • Handles multiple projects and balances multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Available to work holidays, extra hours, or any shift when required.
  • Willing to travel.
