You’ll lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation in a more connected, compassionate world. A Day in the Life The Senior Injection Molding Engineer will support the New Product Introduction (NPI) team by working with the development, qualification, and validation of injection molding processes, including thermoplastics and thermosets. This role is critical to ensuring robust, scalable, and cost-effective manufacturing processes to support high-volume production. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques. Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations. Work with peer in the development, optimization, and validation of injection molding processes for new product launches Design and execute Design of Experiments (DOEs); analyze data and provide data-driven recommendations to improve process capability and performance Support process characterization, qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), and full validation lifecycle activities Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Operations to ensure seamless product transfer to production Develop, revise, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation Train and mentor operators, technicians, and engineers on processes, procedures, and best practices Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield, quality, and cycle time reduction Develop and implement cost-effective testing methods and sampling strategies Troubleshoot process issues and implement sustainable corrective actions in a high-volume manufacturing environment
