We are seeking an experienced Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to lead Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) initiatives for next-generation server and rack-level systems. This role is responsible for driving manufacturability improvements throughout the EVT and DVT phases, optimizing assembly processes, improving first-pass yield, and ensuring seamless transition to mass production. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in server system integration, root-cause analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and new product introduction (NPI), with additional experience in liquid-cooled rack solutions considered a strong advantage.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in server system integration (L10/L11) or rack-level assembly.
  • Proven expertise leading Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) reviews to optimize yield.
  • Strong background guiding products through critical EVT and DVT hardware development stages.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with rack-level liquid cooling integration, including Manifolds, CDUs, and Quick Disconnects.
  • Familiarity with production-line leak and pressure testing (pneumatic, hydrostatic, and vacuum filling).
  • Knowledge of critical liquid-loop controls, such as torque management and blind-mate verification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive DFMA reviews during EVT/DVT phases to optimize server chassis and rack routing.
  • Transport, disassemble, and analyze prototypes to drive design enhancements and product excellence.
  • Drive root-cause analysis for assembly defects and implement 8D methodology to boost First Pass Yield.
  • Navigate MRP, BOM, and ECO systems to extract part specifications and assembly records.
  • Generate formal DFMA reports, document findings with photos, and publish to the company intranet.
  • Maintain systemic DFMA records and partner with IT to optimize the tracking database.
  • Partner with Thermal R&D, Quality, and Suppliers to ensure a smooth transition to mass production.
  • Evaluate cable and hose management to ensure seamless mass production readiness.
