The engineer will manage the mail security posture through EOP/Defender for Office 365 policies, anti-phishing/anti-malware configuration, and SPF/DKIM/DMARC authentication. Key responsibilities include leading mailbox and tenant migrations, administering compliance controls such as retention policies, litigation hold, in-place archiving, DLP policies, and sensitivity labels. The role also covers administration of core M365 services like Entra ID, M365 admin center, and adjacent Teams/SharePoint/OneDrive administration. Governance of the Power Platform environment, including Power Automate flows, Power Apps ALM, and Dataverse security roles, is also a significant part of the role. Additionally, the engineer will administer Microsoft 365 Copilot rollout, usage reporting, and agent management, while advising on data governance implications. Designing and maintaining Conditional Access policies, MFA/passwordless rollout, and Identity Protection risk policies are crucial for adhering to Zero Trust principles. Incident investigation using the Unified Audit Log and Microsoft Purview, building PowerShell scripts and Microsoft Graph API automation, and maintaining clear documentation are also expected. The role requires escalating and managing vendor support cases with Microsoft and identifying/communicating conflicting requirements or risks. On-call support for the messaging and collaboration environment is part of the job.
