About The Position

As a Senior Manager, Software Engineering, you will lead engineering teams delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing software solutions. You will drive execution across the full software development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business priorities and regulatory expectations. You will influence technical direction, develop talent, and optimize delivery practices. Success is measured by reliable product delivery, engineering excellence, and measurable business impact. The OPF WIRES team is responsible for the delivery and support of mission-critical wire transfer and payment processing platforms that enable secure, reliable, and compliant movement of funds across financial networks. The team partners closely with Product, Operations, SRE, Infrastructure, and Security organizations to drive strategic technology initiatives, modernize applications, improve system resiliency, and enhance customer experience. Through adoption of cloud technologies, automation, API-driven solutions, and engineering best practices, the team delivers scalable, high-availability platforms while ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and business continuity. The organization plays a key role in supporting business growth through continuous innovation, strong execution, and a focus on reliability, quality, and client value.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership experience managing software engineering teams and technical leaders
  • Proven ability to deliver large-scale, distributed systems in complex environments
  • Expertise in software development lifecycle, including design, testing, deployment, and operations
  • Deep knowledge of modern programming languages, cloud platforms, and system architecture
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and continuous integration and delivery
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to make decisions in complex, ambiguous situations
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and business audiences
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience

  • Experience in financial services, payments, banking, or regulated environments
  • Familiarity with cloud-native architecture and microservices design patterns
  • Knowledge of site reliability engineering, observability, and performance optimization
  • Experience with data engineering, APIs, or platform-based product development

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple software engineering teams delivering complex, enterprise-scale applications
  • Define and execute engineering strategy aligned to product and business objectives
  • Oversee design, development, testing, and deployment activities across the software lifecycle
  • Drive adoption of modern engineering practices including Agile, DevOps, and continuous delivery
  • Ensure systems are secure, scalable, and compliant with industry standards and governance
  • Collaborate with product, architecture, and business stakeholders to define technical solutions
  • Establish performance metrics and continuously improve delivery quality, velocity, and reliability
  • Manage budgets, resource allocation, and vendor relationships for engineering initiatives
  • Mentor and develop engineering managers and individual contributors to build high-performing teams
  • Lead incident response and root cause analysis to improve system resilience and stability
