About The Position

The Sr Manager, Indirect Procurement – North America is responsible for leading procurement operations and business engagement across North America, ensuring effective execution of procurement initiatives, delivery of business value, stakeholder satisfaction, and compliance with company procurement policies and processes. This role serves as the primary connection between business stakeholders, procurement teams, and category management organizations. The Sr Manager leads a team of procurement professionals while providing oversight, prioritization, governance, and support across a broad range of indirect procurement activities. The position requires a versatile leader who can balance strategic thinking with operational execution, develop strong relationships across the organization, resolve complex business challenges, drive continuous improvement, and ensure procurement delivers measurable value to the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance, Engineering or a related field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, commercial management, or related business functions.
  • Demonstrated success leading procurement teams and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience working within a complex, matrixed, global organization.
  • Proven ability to deliver measurable business value through procurement initiatives.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and driving organizational change.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, governance, supplier management, and business operations

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary procurement partner for North American business stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with leaders across Operations, Manufacturing, Finance, HR, IT, Engineering, Marketing, Facilities, and Corporate Functions.
  • Understand business priorities and ensure procurement resources and activities are aligned to organizational needs.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders regarding procurement processes, supplier engagement, and sourcing activities.
  • Facilitate communication and alignment between business stakeholders and Global or Regional Category Management teams.
  • Manage stakeholder escalations and ensure timely resolution of procurement-related issues.
  • Lead the successful execution and implementation of procurement initiatives across North America.
  • Support sourcing projects and supplier engagements in partnership with category management teams.
  • Ensure procurement activities are delivered efficiently and in accordance with established processes and governance requirements.
  • Drive achievement of annual savings, cost avoidance, and value delivery objectives.
  • Monitor project execution and ensure stakeholder adoption of negotiated agreements and procurement solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve procurement effectiveness and business outcomes.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing indirect procurement team of around 10 professionals.
  • Establish performance objectives aligned with organizational goals.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
  • Support succession planning, employee development, and capability building across the procurement organization.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Promote employee engagement, knowledge sharing, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, delegated authority requirements, and internal controls.
  • Support implementation and adoption of procurement processes, tools, and systems.
  • Monitor procurement performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive consistency in procurement practices across North America.
  • Support internal and external audit activities as required.
  • Champion ethical sourcing practices and sound procurement governance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and stakeholder experience.
  • Support procurement transformation initiatives and organizational change efforts.
  • Drive adoption of standardized processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Promote data-driven decision-making and performance management.
  • Continuously assess procurement operations and recommend improvements to workflows, service delivery, and team effectiveness.
  • Support resolution of complex supplier, commercial, and stakeholder challenges.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, Operations, and other functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Provide leadership during escalations and help drive timely, effective outcomes.
  • Balance business requirements with procurement policies, risk management considerations, and organizational objectives.
  • Serve as a collaborative leader capable of bringing together diverse stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
