About The Position

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Sr. Manager, Project Management to join their team in Santa Clara, CA. This role is crucial for managing key projects that support business operations and strategic initiatives within the Global Operations organization. The position involves leading the planning, execution, and delivery of projects, ensuring they meet safety, quality, scope, budget, and timeline requirements. The Senior Manager will oversee large-scale capital investment projects and provide guidance to cross-functional and cross-regional teams. Key responsibilities include defining project scope, developing schedules, securing resources, managing stakeholder relationships, identifying risks, and developing mitigation plans. The role emphasizes operational excellence, site ramp-up, product transfers, regulatory compliance, and safety to support strategic priorities and ensure successful project outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business Administration or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft Project and PowerPoint.
  • 10 years or more of relevant experience in engineering, project management, or manufacturing, with a focus on operational excellence and team leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects or programs in a regulated manufacturing environment, including planning, execution, and compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes in FDA-regulated environments, including design, start-up, and operational phases.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, coordinate efforts across departments, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Experience managing project or operational budgets, resource planning, and forecasting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project execution, ensuring delivery against safety, quality, cost, scope, and schedule objectives.
  • Develop and implement the project execution plans, including risk identification, mitigation strategies, and issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive project planning, tracking, governance, and reporting to ensure alignment with approved objectives and overall program success.
  • Manage relationships with internal customers, contractors, and cross-functional stakeholders to maintain alignment, transparency, and satisfaction.
  • Oversee a strategic portfolio of projects across multiple sites, ensuring delivery in accordance with organizational priorities and KPIs.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to project leads, and step into a senior project lead role when needed to maintain delivery continuity.
  • Drive the project management best practices and continuous improvement to strengthen execution, standardization, and team capability.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams with strong emphasis on safety, collaboration, accountability, and regional coordination.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, ensuring effective integration of technical, financial, and operational requirements.
