About The Position

The Sr. Manager, Warehouse is responsible for fostering a warehouse culture focused on people, safety, service, and cost. The role oversees warehouse operations to ensure safe, accurate, and timely receipt and storage of inbound product, as well as selection and loading of outbound product, while maintaining the safety and security of the facility. The manager develops warehouse leaders and associates and works to deliver strong customer service and safe, profitable operations. The work schedule is Sunday through Thursday. Initial onboarding and training will take place at the Aurora, Illinois distribution center; the position will be based at the Plainfield, Illinois distribution center. The role requires approximately 10% travel, typically for mandatory meetings or training. Work takes place in warehouse environments, including cooler and freezer areas where temperatures may reach -5 degrees.

Requirements

At least five years of warehouse supervision experience.
Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods, and procedures.
Strong leadership, communication, and people-development skills.
Ability to communicate openly and effectively with associates and departments across the company.
Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, HACCP, and other regulatory requirements.
Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to travel approximately 10%, typically for mandatory meetings or training.
Ability to meet the stated physical activity requirements, including frequently standing and walking and occasionally performing listed lifting, carrying, driving, and other physical tasks.

Nice To Haves

Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control systems.
HACCP certification.
PCQI certification.

Responsibilities

Achieve warehouse safety, service, and cost targets and champion safety procedures, processes, and training.
Coach, train, and develop Warehouse Managers, support problem resolution, and lead by example.
Develop warehouse associates through performance planning with Warehouse Managers; promote engagement, retention, and alignment with company values.
Maintain open communication and direct the workforce to support efficient workflow.
Review staffing needs and monitor interviewing and hiring; review performance, coach employees toward productivity and safety targets, and deliver disciplinary action.
Develop production flow processes and identify process improvements and cost-reduction strategies.
Establish and maintain procedures for verifying inbound shipments, handling and disposition of product, inventory accuracy, and selecting and loading shipments.
Identify and eliminate waste and improve the safety and efficiency of work processes.
Approve daily load plans with Warehouse Managers and ensure trucks are completed on schedule, loads comply with weight restrictions, and special customer requests are accommodated.
Monitor inventory losses, production goals, safety reports, and other operational data; identify problems and causes and recommend changes to the VP of Operations to improve accuracy and customer satisfaction.
Maintain product integrity and ensure food safety standards are met.
Oversee the physical condition and maintenance of the warehouse and its equipment in compliance with OSHA requirements.
At union facilities, assist HR and the VP of Operations with interpreting collective bargaining agreements, administering discipline, settling routine grievances, and participating in arbitrations as required.
Perform other duties assigned by the manager.
