The Senior Manager of Equipment Engineering will be a critical leader responsible for multiple fabrication equipment modules and will play a key role in scaling manufacturing capability to support next-generation products. This role demands a strategic leader with deep experience in semiconductor equipment improvement who can effectively bridge the gap between process and yield. This Senior Manager of Equipment Engineering will ensure that fabrication equipment is available, producing high-quality products, and used efficiently.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in FEOL semiconductor fabrication in equipment-focused roles
  • Demonstrated deep expertise in one or more major FEOL modules such as Litho, Etch, Metals, Cleans, and related metrology, with demonstrated leadership across multi-module environments
  • Proven ability to manage and lead technical teams of engineers and maintenance technicians
  • Excellent communication, structured problem-solving, and team development skills, capable of setting expectations with both internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • BS/MS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or equivalent).

Nice To Haves

  • Management of Vendor and related eco-systems, installation and quality new capacity, escalation SLAs, spare parts BOMs, total productive maintenance, reducing mean time to repair / failure
  • Proficiency in SPC (Statistical Process Control) and a deep understanding of how hardware variables (e.g., vacuum pressure, RF power, gas flow) directly impact Wafer Yield or optical performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a world-class fabrication equipment team
  • Influence design-for-manufacturability decisions in partnership with the development site and strategic sourcing/procurement
  • Serve as the escalation point of contact/trade-off decision maker for all equipment-related issues
  • Establish clear, quantifiable expectations for the systematic improvement in equipment performance KPIs related to yield, equipment availability, cycle time, and cost of ownership.
  • Provide direct management and strategic guidance to the core team of equipment engineers
  • Ensure alignment across fabrication modules, in particular, process and yield engineering
  • Oversee the successful execution of the scale-up and ramp of fabrication capacity & capability
