About The Position

Join us as a dynamic EH&S leader responsible for overseeing Environmental, Health, Safety and Security programs at our Rome, NY site. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with Senior and Line Management to develop and execute effective EH&S and Security programs that drive significant performance improvements aligned with company EH&S and Security requirements and strategic plans. As a strategic leader, you will provide direction, leadership, and technical expertise to enhance EH&S initiatives, ensuring a safe workplace and full compliance with local, state, federal, and RTX EH&S regulations. We are seeking a proactive, dedicated professional with strong leadership, communication, and analytical abilities to drive excellence in EH&S and support our business operations effectively.

Requirements

• Typically requires University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
• 5+ years prior experience in EH&S

• Safety certifications
• Experience in conducting technical assessments of processes and equipment in a manufacturing environment, and both factory and office ergonomic assessments.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and builds partnership at site across all levels of the organization to foster EH&S culture improvement.
• Partners with site leadership and supervision to ensure EH&S regulatory compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise; establish and support timely incident investigation process to prevent reoccurrences.
• Ensures timely risk assessments and adequate controls for EH&S processes; oversees comprehensive EH&S training program; maintains readiness for oversight audits (assurance reviews, program evaluations, compliance reviews, OSHA VPP, ISO 14001, etc.)
• Builds synergies between EH&S, Security and Facilities and Equipment Management for efficient deployment of resources to achieve mutual goals.
• Provides timely information and guidance to the site EH&S and Security leadership team, site EH&S committee and Sub-committees, including EH&S performance trends and root cause corrective actions for injuries and near misses.
• Provide technical expertise and consultation to the site’s EH&S management committee on environmental sustainability initiatives to minimize water use, greenhouse gas generation, hazardous waste generation and increase recycling rate.
• Must be willing and able to travel up to 5%-10% of the time
