The role leads customer discovery to understand business objectives, workflows, challenges, and product needs, and translates those insights into clear, actionable product and technical requirements. The position maintains and prioritizes a structured product backlog, identifies recurring needs across customers and market segments, and partners with IT and engineering leaders to deliver scalable capabilities that create measurable customer and business value. It also shares customer and market insights across teams, supports product strategy and planning, and helps enable launches through documentation, communications, and customer-facing presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Product Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in a customer-facing product, solutions, business analysis, product ownership, or technical consulting role.
  • Experience conducting customer discovery and translating business needs into functional requirements, technical specifications, user stories, data and integration requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience creating, refining, and prioritizing product backlogs and synthesizing feedback across multiple customers or segments.
  • Sufficient technical fluency to work effectively with software engineers, architects, data teams, and integration specialists.
  • Customer empathy and consultative communication, with strong stakeholder-management and facilitation skills.
  • Structured requirements analysis, systems and process thinking, and technical aptitude.
  • Product judgment, commercial awareness, and evidence-based prioritization in environments with competing priorities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and executive-level communication skills.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, influence cross-functionally, and translate between business and technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree or relevant product or Agile certification.
  • Experience with enterprise customers, enterprise software or SaaS, APIs, integrations, data products, workflow automation, Agile methods, or product-management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Build trusted customer relationships and lead discovery sessions, workshops, interviews, and workflow reviews to understand goals, pain points, processes, and desired outcomes.
  • Translate customer needs into business requirements, use cases, functional and technical specifications, user stories, data and integration requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Validate requirements and proposed solutions with customers and technical teams, resolving ambiguity during design and development while avoiding unnecessary one-off customization.
  • Create, maintain, and refine a structured backlog of customer and product requirements.
  • Synthesize requests across customers, industries, use cases, and segments to identify common themes and reusable solutions.
  • Prioritize requirements based on customer impact, strategic alignment, revenue potential, urgency, effort, risk, and applicability; partner with product leadership and engineering on roadmaps and release plans.
  • Communicate priorities, tradeoffs, dependencies, and expected timelines to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze customer feedback and usage patterns to identify recurring problems, unmet needs, emerging opportunities, and differences across customer segments.
  • Share structured customer insights with IT, engineering, sales, customer success, implementation, and leadership teams to inform product strategy and planning.
  • Combine customer feedback with business priorities, product vision, and technical considerations to shape scalable product capabilities.
  • Partner with engineering, IT, customer experience, security, data, commercial, and global client services teams to assess feasibility, dependencies, risks, and implementation options.
  • Represent the product in strategic customer discussions, roadmap reviews, and solution-design sessions, facilitating alignment when requirements or priorities conflict.
  • Support product launches with documentation, enablement materials, release communications, and customer-facing presentations, accurately representing capabilities and limitations.
