The position oversees the entire design lifecycle, from discovery and workflow creation to interaction design, prototyping, and production readiness. The manager will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and research teams to deliver seamless, scalable experiences. The ideal candidate will have expertise in fintech or payments software and hands-on experience integrating modern generative AI tools into their workflow to accelerate design operations, improve collaboration, and transform the design-to-development pipeline while maintaining a human-centered design approach.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a UX Designer, Product Designer, or UX Engineer handling complex digital workflows within the fintech or corporate payments sector.
  • Distinct focus on integrating generative AI tools and methodologies to accelerate the design lifecycle (ideation, wireframing, and high-fidelity execution).
  • 5+ years of direct people management experience leading and scaling high-performing UX teams.
  • Documented experience guiding a team through technical workflow transformations, specifically operationalizing AI-assisted design and prototyping practices.
  • Hands-on experience and strategic mastery of AI-assisted prototyping, generation, and coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Figma AI/Make, Bolt.new, v0) to bridge the gap between high-fidelity intent and frontend framework implementation.
  • Proven track record of establishing or evolving DesignOps and component-based design systems by leveraging AI workflows to automate repetitive documentation, accelerate asset generation, and streamline engineering handoffs.
  • Bachelor’s degree with studies relevant to digital experience creation, human-computer interaction (HCI), or design.
  • Experience overseeing modern user research and usability platforms (e.g., UserTesting.com, OptimalWorkshop, Qualtrics).
  • Understanding of how to use AI to efficiently synthesize user data into actionable product strategies.
  • Experience directing design within corporate brand guidelines.
  • Experience with multilingual platforms (English, Spanish, French) and global localization frameworks.
  • Advanced proficiency with Figma (including Figma Make).
  • Deep operational experience using AI-native development and prototyping tools like Cursor and Bolt.
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and presentation skills tailored for executive and leadership audiences.
  • Ability to advocate for AI innovation, navigate ambiguity, and foster an experimental, collaborative team environment.
  • Familiarity with component architecture, frontend frameworks, or legacy design systems (e.g., Sketch, InVision, Adobe Creative Cloud).
  • Deep understanding of mobile-first design approaches and experience-driven design based on persona validation.
