About The Position

The Senior Manager, Category Leadership drives Campbell’s and Walmart category growth through strategic, insights-led category leadership. The role translates shopper, category, retail, and omnichannel data into compelling actionable recommendations that improve assortment, shelving, merchandising, innovation, and digital shelf execution. This leader serves as a strategic partner to Walmart and internal partners while developing Category Leadership capability through coaching and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 8+ years of CPG, retail, category management, shopper insights, or related experience
  • 3+ years of Walmart category management or insights experience preferred
  • Ability to lead planning, timelines, and cross-functional coordination for line reviews, modular milestones, innovation summits, and customer meetings.
  • Deep understanding of Walmart processes, merchandising strategy, and category review best practices
  • Advanced proficiency with Walmart Scintilla-Shopper Behavior, Channel Performance, and ADD, Circana/IRI or NielsenIQ, Kantar, Mintel, and other advanced analytics tools.
  • Deep category management, shopper insights, assortment, JDA/Blue Yonder space planning, and modular experience.
  • Strong analytical, PowerPoint, and Excel skills.
  • Exceptional storytelling and executive communication skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business recommendations and influence decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Build Strong Customer and Internal Relationships
  • Develop executive-ready presentations, customer-facing selling stories, and strategic recommendations that influence Walmart merchant decisions and equip internal leadership to act on Campbell’s and category opportunities.
  • Facilitate buyer onboarding, internal alignment, and cross-functional education on Walmart category strategies and business priorities.
  • Category Expert Providing Relevant Insights and Thought Leadership
  • Serve as a category thought leader and strategic partner by connecting shopper behavior, market dynamics, and Campbell’s priorities into clear recommendations.
  • Lead category analytics, attribution, and insight development for line reviews, innovation summits, modular reviews, buyer meetings, and strategic projects. Translate complex data into insights and recommendations that are clear, prioritized, and actionable.
  • Develop assortment, shelving, clustering, planogram, merchandising, and omnichannel growth recommendations and identify potential pricing and promotional opportunities.
  • Measure performance, communicate business impact, and identify future growth opportunities.
  • Support innovation sell-in, launch tracking, and post-launch performance across in-store and online.
  • Develop Digital Shelf recommendations that improve discoverability, availability, conversion, and shopper engagement.
  • Deliver routine and ad hoc category analyses and strategic projects that support customer and business objectives.
  • Monitor competitive activity, emerging innovation, and Walmart marketplace changes to identify risks, opportunities, and strategic implications.
