About The Position

Restaurant Brands International Inc. (RBI) is seeking a Sr. Manager, Business Development for Firehouse Subs in Canada. RBI is a global leader in the quick-service restaurant industry, owning iconic brands like TIM HORTONS®, BURGER KING®, POPEYES®, and FIREHOUSE SUBS®. This role is crucial in achieving RBI's dream of building the most loved restaurant brands in the world. The Sr. Manager will be responsible for leading franchising efforts within their designated territory, from initial contact through to closing deals. This position requires a 5-day in-office work schedule, based in Toronto, ON, to foster collaboration.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of performance-based sales experience, preferably in the franchise industry.
  • Understanding of franchise business fundamentals, unit-level operations, franchise best practices, and ideal franchise owners.
  • Ability to quickly build relationships and motivate others.
  • Ability to accurately forecast and assess risk.
  • Strong financial analysis ability with the capability to build Excel and financial models for diligence and deal negotiation.
  • Strong organizational, project management, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Good time management and critical thinking skills.
  • Proactive, assertive, and polished leader with a relentless pursuit.
  • Ability to travel as needed (~25% of the time).
  • Honesty, high integrity, personal accountability, and a passion for the success of the brand, the team, and personal career growth.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed new restaurant growth targets with new and existing franchisees in designated territory.
  • Seek out and identify franchisee candidates via sales channels including phone, networking, referrals, social media, road shows, and lead generation marketing partners.
  • Build and cultivate relationships with franchisee candidates, acting as a trusted advisor and educating them on the Firehouse Subs franchise model and franchise disclosure document.
  • Align with cross-functional teams to understand and master market planning.
  • Facilitate introductions of candidates to other internal stakeholders for deal approval.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide timely updates in the CRM platform.
  • Abide by all state, federal, and local laws pertaining to franchise sales and disclosure information.
