About The Position

The Senior Manager, Bank FP&A is a Utah-based leadership role responsible for establishing and leading PayPal Bank’s financial planning and analysis capability. Reporting to the PayPal Bank CFO, the role owns the Bank’s standalone financial forecast, annual operating plan, long-range plan, product profitability analysis, net interest income forecasting, management reporting, and scenario analysis. PayPal Bank is expected to operate as a standalone legal entity with its own governance, financial reporting, planning, and regulatory obligations while leveraging PayPal Inc. and other affiliates for certain services under formal intercompany arrangements. The role retains ownership of Bank FP&A assumptions, performance analysis, forecast governance, and management reporting, while coordinating with Corporate FP&A, Treasury, Controllership, Risk, Credit, Product, Technology, Legal, Tax, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 8+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in bank FP&A, strategic finance, business finance, product finance, or financial planning within banking, fintech, payments, or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of bank financial statements, net interest income, deposit economics, operating expenses, and forecast-to-actual analysis.
  • Ability to build financial models, manage forecast assumptions, explain variances, and prepare executive-ready materials.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment with strong documentation, controls, cross-functional collaboration, and governance discipline.
  • Experience with de novo bank formation, industrial banks, bank subsidiaries, or regulated legal-entity finance environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with deposit product economics, funds transfer pricing, bank business plan submissions, or regulatory examination readiness preferred.
  • Knowledge of Empyrean or similar bank forecasting and funds transfer pricing tools preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise planning, data warehouses, business intelligence/reporting, bank core systems, or subledger data environments.
  • MBA, CPA, CFA, or other relevant advanced degree or professional certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Business partnering with leaders and VPs and the other cross-functional teams located globally
  • Build and retain a strong and effective team
  • Oversee month-end close and reporting activities, forecast, variance analysis and reporting of operating expense (as well as Contra)
  • Drive continuous process improvements both within the team and with the business
  • Provide analysis and recommendations to leadership groups quickly and effectively to drive results
  • Ensure strict adherence to corporate policies and GAAP regulations
  • Partner with leadership on risk awareness for projects
  • Develop key insights to provide finance senior leadership visibility into areas of risk
  • Work within finance and technology partners to identify areas of opportunity for improvement
  • Prepare and present results and forecasts to senior leaders
  • Track and re-trend results against forecasts and budgets
