About The Position

As part of the Gastonia Parts Plant team, the Sr. Maintenance Mechanic provides electro-mechanical support. The position calls for a passion for process improvements, attention to detail, comfort with numbers, and adherence to Daimler’s values of passion, respect, integrity, and discipline. The role is onsite in Gastonia, North Carolina. Relocation assistance is not available.

Requirements

• Provide documentation substantiating 8 years of practical experience in industrial maintenance.
• Have exceptional working knowledge of industrial maintenance, including electrical and mechanical technologies.
• Have practical knowledge of preventive maintenance systems and root cause failure analysis.
• Take a skilled trades test during the trial period.
• Be able to perform all essential job functions, with reasonable accommodations if necessary.
• Have hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical tools used in the maintenance trade.
• Be able to operate power tools, cranes, man lifts, scissor lifts, welders, burn torches, drill presses, and hydraulic presses.
• Have practical experience with electrical meters, an oscilloscope, and general maintenance tools.
• Be legally authorized to work permanently in the country where the position is located at the time of application.
• Successfully complete a criminal background check; a pre-employment drug screen may also be required.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical degree.
• Journeyman Card and documentation showing a bona fide apprenticeship equaling 4 years of skilled-trades experience.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Troubleshoot robotic, PLC, and servo drive controls.
• Repair CNC machining centers, CNC punches, brake presses, progressive stamping presses, and automated manufacturing systems.
• Work with air compressors, boiler systems, chiller systems, HVAC equipment, and industrial electrical systems.
• Install and set up AC-DC motors and controls.
