About The Position

The Proactive Intelligence team uses machine learning and agentic AI to deliver personalized user experiences as part of Apple Intelligence. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and evaluating data and machine learning systems for production, using multimodal inputs. The engineer will plan and conduct experiments, and debug and optimize agentic machine learning applications. The work supports intelligent experiences across Apple devices, including iPhone, Mac, Apple Watch, and iPad.

As a team member, you will ship software customers depend on, establish scalable automated evaluation and monitoring processes, and contribute to a respectful, empowering team culture. You will uphold engineering best practices, prioritize the user experience, communicate complex ideas through storytelling, and develop innovative tools and techniques.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience building production machine learning systems.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Proficiency in at least one compiled language, such as C, C++, Objective-C, Swift, Go, Java, Kotlin, C#, or Rust.

Nice To Haves

• Production experience training, deploying, and evaluating autonomous agentic systems.
• Production experience working with machine learning pipelines and large datasets.
• Experience in resource-constrained computing, such as embedded systems or mobile development.
• Proficiency in using AI agent assistance effectively as part of software development workflows.
