About The Position

The Proactive Intelligence team uses machine learning and agentic AI to deliver personalized user experiences as part of Apple Intelligence. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and evaluating data and machine learning systems on multimodal inputs for production systems, as well as planning and conducting experiments and debugging and optimizing agentic machine learning applications. The engineer will work on technologies supporting Apple Intelligence across iPhone, Mac, Apple Watch, iPad, and other devices.

As a team member, you will ship software customers depend on, establish scalable automated processes for evaluation and monitoring, uphold engineering best practices, prioritize user experience, communicate complex ideas through storytelling, and develop innovative tools and techniques. The role also contributes to a respectful, empowering team culture focused on learning and growth.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience building production machine learning systems.
• MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Proficiency in at least one compiled language such as C, C++, Objective-C, Swift, Go, Java, Kotlin, C#, or Rust.
• Production experience training, deploying, and evaluating autonomous agentic systems.
• Production experience working with ML pipelines and large datasets.
• Experience in resource-constrained computing, such as embedded systems or mobile development.
• Proficiency in using AI agent assistance effectively as part of software development workflows.
