About The Position

Our New York studio is currently seeking a Sr. Landscape Design Professional to join our growing Planning practice. The individual in this role coordinates and/or undertakes the planning development, production and delivery of projects, as a member of the project design team or on their own projects. Assignments require independent action and decision making as well as the ability to supervise others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture or architecture plus 8+ years’ experience required.
  • LEED credential required within 6 months of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in landscape architecture or urban design may also be required.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, modifies, and reviews planning documents according to established standards.
  • Works on a full range of assignments in the delivery of all project phases and construction administration.
  • Develops, modifies and reviews master plan reports, construction documents and specifications.
  • Develops solutions to technical and design problems following established standards.
  • Incorporates Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
  • Displays ability to create design concepts and expresses graphically.
  • Compiles data and performs elementary design computations.
  • Performs benchmarking research on programming, comparable projects and images.
  • Assures HOK document standards are met and archives documents appropriately.
  • May assist team in construction administration document management.
  • Reads and understands Agreements to Work within budget, schedule, work plan and client constraints.
  • May mentor and direct the work of intern staff.
  • Actively promotes collaborative and innovative culture.
  • Fosters a commitment to external and internal client service.
