About The Position

MetroStar is seeking a Sr. Kubernetes Engineer II to serve as a security engineering subject matter expert for containerized environments, service mesh technologies, and microservices. The role designs, implements, and manages security controls for containerized workloads, integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps workflows while supporting compliance with RMF, NIST SP 800-53, ICD 503, and FedRAMP requirements. The engineer configures security monitoring and logging, monitors network traffic and system logs, investigates anomalies and incidents, assesses threat intelligence, and performs risk assessments. The role collaborates with platform engineers, ISSOs, developers, IT, software development, and compliance teams to embed security throughout the system lifecycle.
