About The Position

This role involves performing technical detail design, coding, and testing of applications. The developer will serve as a subject matter expert for discussions related to maintaining and enhancing existing software systems, and will develop and analyze interface design documentation. The position requires compliance with hardware and software systems standards and procedures, and the delivery of large systems for tens of thousands of users. The developer will also comply with code quality, migration, and dev/ops standards and policies, and perform software analysis including requirements and use case development and design. Implementation and documentation of source code to design specifications, as well as software testing including developing and running automated unit tests, and drafting and executing structured automated test cases, are key responsibilities. The role includes compiling, assessing, and reporting data results from software testing and analysis, developing software solutions for enterprise environments and other technologies, and analyzing and implementing functional and non-functional requirements (e.g., performance, availability) and design, implement, and test software. Operations and maintenance (O&M) of existing systems, identifying areas for improvement and streamlining, and utilizing experience with front-end and back-end programming and integration frameworks and tools are also part of the role. The developer will assist in the estimation of development of application features, provide direct technical support for high level, high visibility and critical trouble calls for supported applications, and work with cross-functional teams to develop highly reliable software that runs at scale. Providing recommendations to infuse new technology, extending open-source libraries and systems as necessary, and playing a crucial role in product scoping and roadmap/architecture discussions are expected. The role also involves continually evaluating emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends, and best practices, and mentoring junior software engineers.

Requirements

Must have Java development experience with ability to develop unit / integration test cases using Junit / TestNg.
Must have application development experience using the COBOL programming language and environments (CICS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, ChangeMan, Topaz, etc).
Must have ability to understand and work with code developed by other developers.
Must have ability to work independently.
Must have experience with web services and understanding of RESTful / SOA Services.
Must have extensive experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
Must have strong experience in continuous integration within DevOps environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must have experience with working on Java and Spring related technologies such as Spring Core, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Integration.
Must have experience with cloud technologies in AWS.

Experience working with API Management Tools.
Experience working with GIT/BitBucket.
