About The Position

The Senior IT Security Analyst oversees the detection, investigation, and mitigation of advanced cybersecurity threats. The role includes high-level incident response, threat hunting, and continuous improvement of security monitoring tools and processes to protect the organization’s digital assets. The analyst also provides technical guidance to SOC analysts and works with infrastructure teams on vulnerability mitigation.

Requirements

• Typically 5 or more years of extensive SOC experience focused on incident handling and digital forensics.
• Proficiency with SIEM platforms such as Splunk.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP, and of traffic analysis.
• Familiarity with malware analysis and reverse engineering techniques.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigations of complex security incidents, perform in-depth forensics, and coordinate remediation to minimize impact.
• Proactively hunt for undetected malicious activity on the network using advanced analytical techniques and threat intelligence.
• Manage and fine-tune SIEM tools, IDS/IPS, and EDR solutions.
• Integrate and use threat intelligence feeds to monitor emerging attack vectors and update defensive measures.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to SOC analysts.
• Develop, document, and refine standard operating procedures, incident response playbooks, and SOC runbooks.
• Help identify security gaps and coordinate with infrastructure teams to support timely patching and mitigation.
