About The Position

Scout Motors is seeking a hands-on Senior Integration Developer to help build and support its evolving enterprise integration platform, currently centered on MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and SAP BTP Integration Suite. The role designs, develops, tests, deploys, and supports APIs and integrations that connect enterprise applications, SAP systems, SaaS platforms, and cloud services. It also contributes reusable components and standards, supports production operations, and adopts new integration technologies as the ecosystem grows. The position is based at Scout Motors’ Charlotte, North Carolina location and requires four days per week in the office. Occasional travel and in-person participation in company events are expected. The role is full-time and exempt, with a base salary range of $140,000 to $170,000 and eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
At least 8 years of hands-on experience developing enterprise integrations and APIs.
Strong hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including Mule 4, DataWeave, Anypoint Studio, and API Manager.
Experience with SAP BTP Integration Suite, or willingness and ability to develop deeper expertise in it.
Experience designing and developing REST and SOAP APIs and working with API specifications such as RAML and OpenAPI.
Understanding of API-led connectivity, API lifecycle management, reusable API design, and enterprise integration patterns.
Experience with synchronous and asynchronous integrations, messaging, event-driven integrations, routing, transformation, and file-based integrations.
Experience with JSON, XML, XSD, CSV, and SQL.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based source control, and DevOps practices for integration applications.
Working knowledge of API and integration security concepts, including OAuth 2.0, certificates, JWT, TLS/mTLS, and secrets management.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
Experience with integration logging, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support.
Strong understanding of error handling, performance optimization, reliability, and maintainability in enterprise integrations.
Ability and willingness to learn additional integration platforms and technologies as the ecosystem evolves.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, including identifying root causes and driving issues to resolution.
Effective communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams.
Ability to provide technical guidance to less-experienced developers while remaining hands-on with development and delivery.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the design, development, implementation, and support of the enterprise integration platform using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and SAP BTP Integration Suite.
Design, develop, test, deploy, and support APIs and integrations connecting enterprise applications, SAP systems, SaaS platforms, and cloud services.
Develop scalable, reusable integrations using MuleSoft, SAP BTP, and other integration technologies as the platform evolves.
Design and implement APIs using REST, SOAP, OData, and event- or message-based patterns.
Develop MuleSoft applications using Mule 4, DataWeave, Anypoint Studio, API Manager, and Anypoint Platform capabilities.
Develop and support integrations using SAP BTP Integration Suite, particularly for SAP and enterprise application use cases.
Create reusable APIs, integration components, templates, and common patterns.
Implement error handling, logging, retries, exception management, and security in integration solutions.
Work with messaging and event technologies, including Kafka and queues or topics, as required.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, and deployment of integration applications.
Perform unit and integration testing and troubleshoot issues throughout development, testing, and production support.
Monitor integrations and identify and resolve performance, connectivity, data, and application issues.
Optimize integrations for performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
Maintain technical documentation for APIs, interfaces, mappings, integration flows, deployments, and operational support.
Follow and help improve development, security, API, and integration standards.
Participate in technical design and code reviews and recommend integration development best practices.
Collaborate with application teams, SAP teams, security, DevOps, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to developers while contributing to engineering quality and continuous learning.
Learn and adopt new integration technologies and patterns as the enterprise integration landscape evolves.
