About The Position

CAA is seeking a Senior IaC Architect to own the strategy, structure, and governance of its infrastructure-as-code ecosystem across global platforms. This high-visibility technical leadership role defines how IaC is designed, standardized, secured, versioned, reviewed, and scaled across environments. The role focuses on Terraform, CI/CD, GitHub, Azure DevOps, cloud and network technologies, and Kubernetes, establishing architectural standards that support reliability, repeatability, security, and operational consistency. The architect partners with engineering, security, operations, and platform teams to translate business and technical requirements into scalable IaC strategies aligned with approved standards and long-term platform objectives. The role defines blueprints for release automation, pipeline structure, branching and approval models, module design, environment promotion, policy-as-code, health checks, regression and resiliency testing, and self-healing workflows. While engineering teams may implement the builds, the architect owns the strategy, governance, and quality bar for how infrastructure-as-code is delivered and operated. This is a hybrid position based in CAA’s Nashville office. The annual base salary range is $200,000–$222,000, and the position is eligible for benefits and a discretionary bonus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of hands-on DevOps, platform, or infrastructure engineering experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Terraform-based infrastructure-as-code, including modular, version-controlled designs.
  • Deep experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
  • Hands-on experience with Git branching strategies and merge/pull request workflows, including branch policies and pipeline gating.
  • Fundamental understanding of cloud and network technologies, such as Azure or AWS, VNets, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls.
  • Working experience with containers and Kubernetes, such as Docker and AKS.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using tools such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Forward-thinking, automation-first mindset and ability to collaborate across teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Kubernetes at scale and GitOps workflows, such as Helm, Argo CD, or Flux.
  • Interest in media and entertainment technology or workflows.
  • Experience implementing DevSecOps practices and policy-as-code, such as OPA or Sentinel, and observability tooling, such as Prometheus or Grafana.

Responsibilities

  • Own the overall strategy, structure, governance, and operating model for CAA’s Infrastructure-as-Code practice across global platforms.
  • Serve as the gatekeeper for IaC standards, ensuring Terraform modules, CI/CD pipelines, automation patterns, and deployment workflows align with approved architectural direction.
  • Define and maintain IaC frameworks, reusable patterns, guardrails, naming conventions, module structures, repository standards, and environment promotion models.
  • Establish standards for Terraform module design, versioning, testing, publishing, reuse, and lifecycle management across teams.
  • Set the blueprint for CI/CD pipeline architecture across GitHub and Azure DevOps, including branching strategies, approval workflows, release gates, and deployment controls.
  • Partner with engineering, security, operations, and platform teams to translate technical and business requirements into scalable IaC strategies.
  • Review and approve IaC designs, pipeline structures, Terraform patterns, and automation approaches for consistency, security, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Define and enforce policy-as-code, security scanning, secrets management, compliance controls, and DevSecOps practices within IaC and CI/CD workflows.
  • Establish standards for automated validation, regression testing, resiliency testing, drift detection, and infrastructure health checks.
  • Guide the design of self-healing workflows and proactive automation that detect, prevent, or remediate issues before they affect the business.
  • Provide technical leadership for cloud, network, Kubernetes, and platform automation strategies to support current and future infrastructure needs.
  • Standardize how infrastructure is provisioned, promoted, monitored, and maintained through code across environments.
  • Create and maintain IaC reference architectures, technical documentation, decision records, diagrams, and implementation guidance.
  • Mentor engineers on IaC best practices, Terraform standards, CI/CD design, automation patterns, and operational excellence.
  • Continuously improve IaC maturity, tooling, governance, and automation capabilities to reduce risk, eliminate inconsistency, and improve delivery velocity.
