About The Position

RRC - Ruiz Recruiting & Consulting is hiring a Sr. Human Resources Generalist for a YC-backed startup. This role is essential to building and developing the company's California teams. As a key member of the HR team, the successful candidate will own recruitment and onboarding strategy across California operations and help shape the employee experience from day one.

The role combines full-cycle recruiting and new-hire integration with support for HR investigations, compliance, and progressive discipline. It also includes day-to-day operational support across multiple locations, such as coordinating team lunches, managing supplies, and helping with logistics for warehouse teams. The position requires monthly travel.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of HR experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar fast-paced operations environment.
• Experience supporting an environment with 110 or more hourly employees.
• Knowledge of California labor laws, including CFRA, FMLA, FEHA, and the Labor Code, as well as multi-state compliance.
• Experience sourcing talent, conducting interviews, onboarding new hires, and building a recruiting pipeline.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, adapt quickly, and remain calm and solutions-focused in busy situations.
• Ability to explain complex HR concepts clearly in written and verbal communication to both frontline employees and leadership.
• Ability to travel once a month.

Responsibilities

• Drive full-cycle recruitment across three sites.
• Own onboarding strategy and run 90-day integration programs.
• Conduct meaningful new-hire check-ins and help keep employees engaged and connected during their first months.
• Build employee experiences that support early retention and develop bench strength for growing operations.
• Partner with HR and leadership on investigations and compliance matters.
• Support alignment with progressive discipline practices and legal requirements.
• Assist with day-to-day operational details across locations, including coordinating team lunches, managing supplies, and supporting warehouse logistics.
• Travel once a month.
