Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of and sound professional experience with electro-mechanical engineering, machine assembly and dis-assembly.
  • Sound knowledge of software in terms of machine integration, related network requirements and beyond.
  • Expert in use of tools and test equipment used for verification, servicing and calibration of Varian Linear Accelerators and KV/MV imaging, particularly but not limited to Varian installation tools (IsoTuner, IC-Profiler, ...), oscilloscopes, digital volt meters, mechanical measurement devices, as well as software tools.
  • Adept with mechanical hydraulic, and pneumatic, electrical and software related troubleshooting.
  • Experience of troubleshooting, diagnosis and assisting repair of vacuum systems.
  • Considerable experience, ability and knowledge of complicated upgrades, described within Varian's Service Technical Bulletins.
  • Willingness to travel, primarily within EMEA/AMS, but also worldwide as needed.
  • Applicants must hold a valid driver’s license in the state they reside and may not have any prior DUI/DWI convictions or pending DUI/DWI charges or other serious moving violations (unless such a restriction is prohibited by state/local law).

Responsibilities

  • Support in training and supervising rigging personnel and installation engineers to enable the efficient training of engineers and periodically review of the performance of installers and riggers.
  • Second level support in problem-resolution, Assistant Request procedures, and provides technical assistance to Riggers and Installers worldwide remotely and on-site, as needed, in a timely manner.
  • Consolidate and analyze installation field feedback and engage respective parties to improve product, process and/or documentation.
  • Engages in assigned special projects as well as assists with New Product Introduction (NPI) and engages in non-clinical and PREP riggings and installations.
  • Validates installation documentation as part of NPI
