Sr. Government Healthcare Project Manager
About The Position
Mercer is seeking candidates for the position of Sr. Government Healthcare Project Manager based in their Phoenix office. The Government Human Services Consulting (GHSC) practice focuses on the public health care sector, offering consulting services to government agencies. The role involves managing complex projects to ensure client satisfaction, timely completion, and adherence to budget and scope. The consultant will collaborate across teams, interface with senior management, identify subject matter experts, build relationships with senior business leadership, act as a trusted advisor, facilitate decision-making, and negotiate resource requirements.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree
- Minimum five years of project management experience.
- Demonstrated project management experience, with a proven ability to drive moderately complex projects to completion.
- Ability to partner and lead teams to deliver project objectives
- Strong command of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Nice To Haves
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred, but not required.
- Government healthcare finance and/or health consulting experience is a plus.
- Strong stakeholder management and communications skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex, broad, and/or multi-year projects from end-to-end to deliver business outcomes, ensuring that the project is completed on time, within budget and to a high level of client satisfaction.
- Work closely within high visibility projects and regularly interface with internal senior management; identify subject matter experts on the project(s) at hand.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with senior business leadership.
- Become a trusted advisor and help facilitate timely decision making and trade-offs throughout all relevant project stages.
- Negotiate resource requirements with responsible management when faced with conflicts in priorities.
