About The Position

Viasat is looking for an experienced Sr Global Supply Manager to join our growing team. In this exciting role, you will support Viasat’s Aviation business by managing a variety of Procurement activities including Supplier Management, RFP development/management, agreement negotiation/execution, and statement of work negotiation/execution, PO issuance/management, and reporting. Your forward-thinking and ability to think outside the box will come into play as you develop, manage, and implement effective procurement strategies, develop commodity management strategies, and learn and develop strategies based on customer requirements and technology trends. Your excellent communication skills and ability to drive results and influence key stakeholders will allow you to communicate and assess daily issues, including engineering changes, to meet the needs of the business and easily interact with division leaders in IT, Engineering, Facilities, Security, Finance, and Human Resources. In addition, you will also establish and foster effective strategic supplier relationships to ensure performance and timely resolution of issues and negotiate and administer optimal terms with suppliers that consider, among other things, cost, quality, and supply continuity in support of unique program requirements.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as a supply chain professional in an entrepreneurial, high-tech environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage RFP/RFI needs for varying business requirements.
  • Demonstrated success and characteristics - setting goals, inspiring/influencing others, and always finding a way to meet the business objectives.
  • Experience with New Product Introduction, Electronics, and/or Aerospace program.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills, including the ability to present to Senior Leadership.
  • Ability to successfully interact with peers and all levels of management within the organization.
  • Skilled user of Microsoft Office suite of business software is required: Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field.
  • US citizenship required.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with managing suppliers and related commodities in the aviation industry.
  • Experience with ERP system, Oracle or similar.
  • Experience with Procure-To-Pay systems, such as Tableau.
  • Experience with PLM, Agile or similar.
  • Master's degree.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in a high degree of collaboration and communication with engineering, program managers, finance, human resources, manufacturing, compliance managers, quality assurance, and other supply chain departments.
  • Interface with key internal business area stakeholders to understand their sourcing needs, perform market research, and assist in the execution of the procurement strategy.
  • Continually manage suppliers within the aviation business to achieve procurement targets in price, delivery, and quality.
  • Meet tight program schedules, work with proposals, and cross functional teams to ensure deadlines and financial goals are met.
  • Facilitate process improvement/change initiatives.
