About The Position

Responsible for the development and implementation of merchandising programs primarily for the produce departments of our member stores. Provides consultation with member stores concerning produce merchandising activities.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Making regular planned calls to our member stores serving in a liaison capacity between the store and the warehouse.
Interpreting departmental (Produce) financial and operating statements and advising members regarding strengths and weaknesses within the operation.
Performing necessary analysis and planning to ensure that the produce merchandising objectives and priorities for assigned members are established and met within time limits.
Assisting in the development of produce case allocation programs, i.e., plan-o-grams etc.
Assisting in specialized situations such as aiding in ordering seasonal produce merchandise, handbills, continuity programs and special programs.
Working with others so that the total job responsibilities are met in a satisfactory manner. Actions must always stress a sense of cooperation, integrity, tact and consideration with other members, superiors and co-workers.
Securing knowledge regarding competitor’s produce merchandising strategies, being able to analyze the impact of the advice on countering measures as required.
Accomplishing those activities necessary to keep management informed on all planning, analysis, work performed, and results achieved. All records required by management are complete, accurate, up-to-date and submitted on time.
Providing expert guidance and consultation to member store associates on best practices with merchandising and store operations. Presenting opportunities and innovative strategies clearly to support maximum sales potential.
Handling all assigned stores following all warehouse programs.
Performing other responsibilities as requested by Fresh Sales Manager
