About The Position

Innova Solutions is seeking a Sr. FPGA Electrical Design Engineer for a full-time contract position, with the potential for contract-to-hire. This role is based in Camden, NJ. The Senior Member of Engineering Staff (SMES) will be a key member of the design team, responsible for delivering FPGAs for defense applications. The engineer will architect and implement FPGA designs, with hands-on design and debugging, primarily focusing on Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and AXI protocols. The client utilizes state-of-the-art EDA flows and methodologies, supporting all FPGA vendors and possessing ASIC front-end capabilities with mature design processes. This is a high-impact role crucial for ensuring the robust quality and delivery of communication products for National Security.

Requirements

3-5+ years’ experience designing FPGA products with VHDL.
Experience with Xilinx FPGAs and Vivado.
Experience with Revision control system.
Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM).
Active Secret Security clearance required.
Bachelor of Science (BS) -Four-year degree or Masters (MS) or PhD from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering/Computer Science).

Nice To Haves

Experience with Mentor EDA: Simulator Questa Prime, Verification IP (QVIPs), UVM framework, Clock Domain Crossing (CDC), Reset Domain Crossing (RDC), Questa Lint.
Experience with Synopsys (DC/Primetime/Synplify).
Experience with Intel/Microchip EDA (Libero/Quartus).

Responsibilities

Derive FPGA design specifications from system requirements.
Develop detailed FPGA architecture for implementation.
Implement design in RTL (VHDL) and perform module level simulations.
Perform Synthesis, Place and Route (PAR) and Static Timing Analysis (STA).
Perform RTL quality checks using Lint, Reset Domain Crossing (RDC), Clock Domain Crossing (CDC), and Static Formal EDA.
Generate verification test plans and perform End to End Simulations.
Support Board and FPGA bring up.
Validate design through HW/SW integration test with test equipment.
Support product collateral for NSA certification.
