About The Position

The Senior Financial Analyst position will be part of the Technology Finance Team, focusing on supporting the IT Opex on Fees, Licences and maintenance portfolio, Internal communications cost, adhoc projects and any other assigned Opex portfolios. Reporting to the Manager, Technology Finance, the successful candidate will leverage strong technical and communication skills to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of Opex reporting. The successful candidate will play a critical part in the month-end closing, Budgeting, Forecasting and variance analysis process through working closely with multiple stakeholders across the various cross functional teams. In addition, the successful candidate will play an integral role in various ad-hoc special projects.

Requirements

  • A University degree in a business-related field (Accounting or Finance preferred), with a professional accounting designation (CPA) or MBA.
  • 3-5 years of progressive financial experience.
  • Advanced skills in PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Comfort and confidence in dealing with senior leadership and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with a demonstrated history of engaging with leadership in both business and finance.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and handle competing priorities under short timelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Oracle Financial Systems and Hyperion/Essbase/Smartview is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support the financial operations of the Technology through the preparation and review of month-end journal entries, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Provide commentary on financial results and key business indicators and drive continuous improvement within the finance team.
  • Collaborate with key business partners and finance leadership teams, and communicate key trends, observations, and business impacts.
  • Develop and prepare dashboards & scorecard reporting for use by management and assist in the preparation of monthly reporting packages.
  • Prepare month-end variance analysis and commentaries versus budget and forecasts and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Assist in Financial modelling, and decision-making in support of strategic initiatives.
  • Support the ad hoc requests or projects.
