About The Position

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for underwriting renewal projections on various group sizes, building premium equivalents, self-insured feasibility, contribution analysis, plan evaluations, and handling other analytic requests as needed. The role aims to help educate producers, account management, and clients in understanding their benefits programs and renewals, and to provide negotiation points to justify lower renewals.

Requirements

  • Underwriting experience required (preferably with Large group experience).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs, Formulas, Charts, Graphs, Pivot Tables).
  • Excellent knowledge of multiple types of health plan funding arrangements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Understanding of the client/broker/carrier relationship.
  • Proven experience with time management in various positions.
  • Proficiency in a variety of computer applications, as well as CRM Data entry systems.
  • Demonstrated dedication to providing superior customer service and gaining client loyalty.
  • Proficiency in mentoring, training, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to Analyze and Solve Problems: Skill in recognizing challenges, exploring options, and implementing effective solutions in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates the financial risk of medical & ancillary benefits for clients and prospective clients.
  • Proficiently communicates with internal/external customers using web-based tools.
  • Uses group experience and demographic analysis to drive future strategies such as plan changes, stop loss levels, funding changes, & contributions.
  • Creates RFPs for carriers and manages the financial part of the renewal.
  • Evaluates and explains financial analyses to internal benefit analysts/producers.
  • Presents explanation of financial analyses/strategies to external clients.
