About The Position

Xilinx, Inc., a subsidiary of AMD, Inc., is hiring a Senior Field Applications Engineer to focus primarily on AMD x86 and FPGA technologies. The role provides pre- and post-sales technical guidance to customers, evaluates system- and module-level designs, resolves technical issues, develops reference designs, and delivers demonstrations. In engagements with top customers, the engineer serves as a technical contributor and an extension of the customer’s development team. The engineer provides product-development teams with feedback on current and future products, including tools, run-time software, device architectures, IP, and hardware and software strategy. The role also includes creating and delivering customer training on effective design methodologies, debugging customer designs, conducting product demonstrations, running benchmarks, and advising customers on system architecture and design optimization. No travel is required. This posting is for an existing vacancy, with multiple openings.

Requirements

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
Experience designing FPGAs.
Experience with front-end or back-end (physical design) EDA tools.
Experience with ASIC design tools, including synthesis, simulation, equivalence checking, and static timing analysis.
Experience with C, C++, or Python.
Experience with embedded processor systems.
Experience with logic and circuit design.
Experience with software verification.
Required skills and experience may be gained through graduate-level coursework, research, assistantship, or internship experience.

Responsibilities

Provide pre- and post-sales technical guidance to customers.
