About The Position

The Senior Field Engineer provides outage and commissioning oversight, power plant technical support and assessments, and project management oversight and planning support for assigned projects. Outage management and field commissioning oversight are the primary responsibilities. The role coordinates directly with plants and works independently under general direction with minimal supervision. Site visits may respond to units that have experienced significant events or damage. Decisions are made within prescribed operations and maintenance procedures and guidelines; the role independently handles complex technical matters that may require explanation, discussion, interpretation, and approvals. The position requires an understanding of industry best practices for repair protocols, commissioning practices, superalloys, instrumentation and control, and gas and steam turbine functions. The Senior Field Engineer reports to the Director of Asset Optimization and works with NAES and non-NAES plants to support outage management, project management, and commissioning needs. Extensive travel may be required. Work is performed at industrial sites when traveling and requires protective clothing and equipment. Extended hours may be required during travel or due to project schedules and requirements. Normal working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The initial compensation range is $167,900 to $193,100. NAES describes offering competitive compensation, a comprehensive benefits package including retirement, and promotional opportunities.
