About The Position

GPJ is hiring a Senior Fabrication Project Manager to join their growing team. This on-site role requires reporting to the Detroit office location a minimum of 5 days per week. As the Senior Project Manager for Fabrication, the primary responsibility is to oversee and coordinate all activities related to projects, ensuring the delivery of top-quality work while maximizing profit margins. The role involves handling a range of additional responsibilities, whether focusing solely on fabrication or overseeing all aspects of a project.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of building and construction standards and terminology
  • Ability to read/understand engineering drawings
  • Knowledge CAD/CAM manufacturing and fabrication
  • Understanding of Project Management methodology
  • Familiarity with interior and exterior building materials and fabrication techniques
  • Drive, Determination and Persistence in guiding numerous shop personnel on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Fluent in Google Docs and Sheets (Word and Excel)
  • Exceptional Time Management Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Construction Management or a minimum of seven years experience in construction or construction related fields
  • Ability to travel 25%
  • Ability to work irregular hours in addition to normal business hours, to include nights, weekends and holidays as needed

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate all activities related to projects, ensuring the delivery of top-quality work while maximizing profit margins
  • Analyze materials to ensure correct usage and timely delivery
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Estimators to establish budgets and timelines
  • Drive projects forward and maintain adherence to set timelines
  • Provide ongoing support for estimating projects
  • Organize crucial project meetings to ensure alignment
  • Work closely with shop management to determine crew size requirements
  • Collaborate with foremen to address specific project needs
  • Generate and submit weekly timesheets
  • Occasionally travel to supervise operations at major shows
  • Assist with building maintenance to uphold the quality of facilities
