About The Position

The EHS Specialist serves as the sole Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) resource for the facility, responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment. This role develops and administers EHS programs, policies, procedures, training, and employee communications to ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations while promoting safe work practices throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of EHS regulations and compliance requirements, including OSHA, EPA, and applicable local, state, regional, and national regulations.
  • Ability to develop and implement EHS policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
  • Familiarity with equipment introduction and validation processes (e.g., FAT, SAT, PSSR, user requirements).
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines with technical accuracy.
  • Knowledge of EHS recordkeeping and documentation requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to support company EHS initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned.
  • A minimum of (5) years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate creativity in identifying solutions which balance supporting customer and operational goals along with ensuring EHS requirements are in compliance.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards preferred.
  • Education and/or training specific to EHS in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and maintains EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards and applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Partners with operations, engineering, supervisors, and employees to conduct risk assessments and support safe equipment design, workspace layout, and management of change activities.
  • Conducts facility inspections to identify hazards, recommend corrective and preventive actions, and monitor compliance.
  • Provides guidance on hazardous materials, chemical safety, fire prevention, and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Develops and delivers EHS training and employee communications to promote safe work practices and a strong safety culture.
  • Participates in incident investigations, identifies root causes, and supports implementation of corrective actions.
  • Coordinates workers' compensation case management.
  • Maintains required EHS records, documentation, permits, and compliance files.
  • Reports EHS performance, issues, and recommendations to site leadership.
  • Supports corporate EHS and quality initiatives and performs other duties as assigned.
