About The Position

The Sr. Engineering Technical Advisor will support a team of skilled researchers to help drive advancements in research for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). As part of our team, you'll serve as a strategic technical advisor to program managers at DARPA, advising on advanced government-funded research and development programs. You'll work with world-class scientists and engineers to provide strategic assessments of emerging technologies. You will maintain responsibility for producing and presenting findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs, assisting with the management of current programs, and facilitating the transition of program deliverables to DoD stakeholders.

Requirements

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "TOP SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance
  • Ph.D. in physics, material science, electrical engineer, or a related field
  • EIGHT (8) or more years’ experience in engineering
  • Experience with test and evaluation of research in the areas CMOS electronic design, semiconductor fabrication, heterogenous integration
  • Ability to perform program administration, including development of technical analyses, identification of technology gaps, technical risk management, project cost estimation, technology transfer effort
  • Ability to analyze emerging science and technology R&D opportunities through literature review, outreach to the research community, summarizing, analyze, and visualizing data in various forms
  • Ability to generate briefing materials and agency documents
  • Lead assessments to analyze findings, assess technical and schedule risks, and develop management strategies
  • Experience meeting target milestones, timelines, and budgets for projects and programs

Nice To Haves

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "TOP SECRET/SCI (TS/SCI)" Federal or DoD security clearance
  • Prior experience with DoD R&D efforts
  • Ability to work on tasks quickly, independently, and collaboratively in a team atmosphere
  • Possession of outstanding attention to detail
  • Possession of clear and succinct oral, visual, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work on site up to 5 days a week in Arlington, VA
