About The Position

The Apple Services Engineering team is responsible for powering services like the App Store, Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Books. Program Managers on this team partner with engineers to build secure, end-to-end solutions, leveraging Apple's unique integration of hardware, software, and services. The team is committed to strengthening Apple's privacy policy and operates with a small, flexible, and cross-functional structure. This role involves building and running the foundation for services used by millions of customers daily, focusing on extraordinary service availability, scalability, and security. The ideal candidate will define standards, implement methodologies, and improve operational efficiency, enjoying non-routine work that requires social intelligence, complex critical thinking, and creative problem-solving. The candidate should be ambitious, proactive, able to work independently, coordinate projects across multiple locations, and possess excellent written and interpersonal skills with a keen attention to detail. Experience running complex software deliverables with interdependencies and a track record of successful partnerships across engineering, design, and leadership are essential. Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills are relevant in this complex environment.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in technical program management, with significant experience in infrastructure or platform development
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and software development lifecycles
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field or related experience

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with container orchestration (Kubernetes), workflow systems, or distributed data platforms
  • Experience building developer platforms or infrastructure-as-a-service products
  • Proven ability to drive complex, multi-team technical programs from ambiguity to delivery
  • Track record of influencing senior engineering leaders and building consensus across organizations with competing priorities
  • Strong technical acumen and the ability to engage with product and engineering on architecture decisions and tradeoffs
  • Self-motivated and proactive; demonstrated ability to quickly triage, prioritize, and navigate ambiguity under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to translate technical complexity into clear narratives for diverse audiences
