About The Position

The Apple Services Engineering (ASE) team powers the App Store, Arcade, Apple TV and Sports, Apple Music, Podcasts, Books, and Cloud and Infrastructure Services platforms, delivering entertainment in over 35 languages to more than 150 countries. Apple Services Engineering Program Managers partner with Engineers to build innovative end-to-end solutions, aligning with Apple ’s unique integration of hardware, software, and services to achieve a unified vision, including enhancing Games with the Games App. The team is a diverse group of problem solvers focused on reimagining products, systems, and practices to help users and manage organizational growth. A successful candidate will drive initiatives from ideation through launch, building sustainable long-term programs and products. Strong PM fundamentals are required, along with a genuine passion and patience for solving complex and dynamic problems. As the Games Engineering Program Manager, you ’ll lead development projects for the App Store ’s most popular category, working with our engineering teams to build experiences that impact millions of users worldwide. Among key areas of focus will be Games App and Game Center. In addition, you will drive other games feature initiatives, working with a broad cross-functional team to plan, schedule, build and ship the next wave of features supporting App Store customers and game developers across Apple ’s platforms.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical program management in software development involving complex client/server architecture.
  • Strong technical proficiency in software architecture and development.
  • Experience with iOS app development on UI features with design team.
  • Experience in game development or other games industry background.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar technical field or at least 5+ years of comparable experience.

Nice To Haves

  • A track record of building products by driving collaboration across engineering, QA, marketing, design, and other key stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem solving, and logical structuring abilities with clear ability to turn incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous inputs into solid action plans.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) to all levels of an organization.
  • Strong facilitation skills (requirements sessions, design meetings, progress and status meetings).
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive multiple tasks to completion with minimal oversight, showing strong self-motivation and accountability.
  • Past programming experience.

Responsibilities

  • Drive initiatives from ideation through launch and build out the vision into sustainable long-term programs and products.

  • Drive other games feature initiatives, working with a broad cross-functional team to plan, schedule, build and ship the next wave of features supporting App Store customers and game developers across Apple ’s platforms.
  • Drive the day-to-day program activities for all Games development projects, including planning, execution, and risk assessments, in order to meet the overall program objectives.
  • Help to set the strategy, execute on the schedule, and be responsible for communicating status and issues to stakeholders at all levels along the way.
  • Interface and collaborate with cross-functional partners to drive scope alignment, schedule alignment, and issue resolution.
  • Develop and iterate on project management methodologies to increase efficiency, while staying aligned with Apple ’s development practices and project lifecycle processes.
