About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is seeking an experienced Design Engineering professional for the F135 Fan design team. This role requires independent work and offers the opportunity to design, build, and service engines. The position involves supporting all phases of the design cycle, from preliminary design through manufacturing and operational service. The engineer will work on various components within the fan module, support the existing F135 fleet through commonality and optimization, and expand repairability/maintainability for military customers and MRO facilities. Collaboration with quality clinics and related departments is expected for testing and verification of field issues. The role also includes designing and implementing common procedures, developing data, making layouts, and performing cost studies. The engineer will resolve complex design problems, review layouts and drawings, and communicate with other engineering personnel. Additionally, the role involves providing technical leadership on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and assisting in training less experienced engineers.
