This is a remote position for a Sr. Energy Storage Commissioning Engineer, Grid Infrastructure. The role involves joining a rapidly expanding BESS (Battery Energy Storage) company that is a leader in utility-scale energy storage development, execution, and operations. The company has a significant national footprint and a large portfolio of grid-connected standalone battery storage assets. The successful candidate will be a Project Lead within the EPC team, responsible for the technical engineering, construction oversight, and commissioning execution of utility-scale BESS projects. This role requires a blend of deep cross-functional technical engineering expertise and hands-on project delivery. Responsibilities include overseeing project design, construction, and commissioning in collaboration with third-party engineering firms and EPC contractors, reviewing and negotiating interconnection agreements, leading RFQ/RFP development, working with utilities and consultants, and traveling to project sites during construction and commissioning phases. The ideal candidate has experience building high-voltage systems for renewable energy grid infrastructure projects and understanding utility energization timelines.
