From site selection to data center construction and operations, Stream develops wholesale colocation capacity and build-to-suit facilities for hyperscale and enterprise users in major markets across the United States. Additionally, Stream sources and develops low-risk land sites for optimum data center development and provides energy procurement services with a focus on reducing market risk and providing low-cost renewable energy options. We are looking for a highly skilled Electrical Engineer/Program Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of cutting-edge electrical engineering projects. This hybrid role combines technical expertise in electrical engineering with strong program management capabilities, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. As an Electrical Engineer/Program Manager, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership to drive innovative electrical engineering solutions while managing the program's strategic direction, risks, and resources. Your leadership will be critical to the success of both the technical and operational aspects of our electrical engineering projects. The role reports directly to the Director of Product and maintains proactive, frequent and open communication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in electrical engineering and program management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in designing and managing electrical systems for large, complex projects.
  • Strong background in power distribution, control systems, circuit design, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, MATLAB, PSpice, etc.).
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and quality teams.
  • Strong program management skills, including risk assessment, scheduling, and budget management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., UL, IEC, NEC, etc.).
  • Experience with Agile or other project management methodologies is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PE, or similar).
  • Experience in specific industries such as telecommunications, consumer electronics, automotive, or industrial automation.
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy-efficient designs.
  • Familiarity with software development practices and embedded systems design.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, testing, and development of electrical systems and components, ensuring alignment with project specifications and standards.
  • Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layouts for various projects (e.g., power distribution, control systems, circuit design, etc.).
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software engineers, and product managers, to integrate electrical systems into larger product designs.
  • Perform simulations and analyses to verify and optimize electrical systems and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Provide technical support during the manufacturing and deployment phases, including troubleshooting and resolving electrical system issues.
  • Oversee the program lifecycle, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Manage project timelines, ensuring milestones are met and deliverables are completed on schedule.
  • Coordinate resources, including internal teams, contractors, and third-party vendors, to ensure effective and efficient project execution.
  • Monitor and report on program status, risks, and progress to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including engineering specifications, test plans, and project plans.
  • Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the engineering team and other departments (e.g., product management, operations, quality control) to ensure seamless communication and project success.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to define project requirements, design objectives, and expectations.
  • Ensure that engineering teams adhere to industry standards, company guidelines, and best practices in electrical engineering.
  • Develop and implement testing protocols to ensure electrical systems meet performance, safety, and compliance standards.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and provide corrective actions for any technical issues that arise during design, manufacturing, or deployment.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in both electrical engineering practices and program management workflows.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends, technologies, and industry standards in electrical engineering to ensure the team’s work remains at the forefront of innovation.
