About The Position

HGA is seeking a Sr. E&I Designer to support operations in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Sr. E&I Designer leads design efforts for projects in support of a Lead Engineer, communicates regularly with the Lead Engineer, and interfaces effectively with project staff and management. The role is responsible for producing project deliverables and delegating assignments to designers and/or drafters to meet project schedules.

Requirements

Electrical Engineering Technology degree, Instrumentation Technology degree, or equivalent education/experience.
At least 8 years of experience in a design role.
Knowledge of CAD software and engineering design software.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

Lead design efforts for assigned projects.
Lead production of design deliverables based on discussions with the Lead Engineer and/or project team.
Provide input on project deliverable status, including man-hour forecasts, resource needs, and schedules.
Manage production of design deliverables in accordance with HGA workflow and project schedules.
Review vendor documentation and adjust designs to match supplied equipment and materials.
Assist with developing construction cost (TIC) estimates.
Assist with developing engineering and design budgets for proposals.
Coordinate across disciplines, including squad checks, interference identification, equipment layout, and general design coordination.
Check the work of others to assist the E&I Department with issuing drawing packages.
Make site visits as required to collect project data for design and engineering calculations.
Perform engineering and design support tasks as required, such as assembling document packages, making copies, and creating PDF files from DWG files.
