About The Position

The Senior Director of Facilities Operations provides executive leadership for Venture Christian Church's campus operations, ensuring that the church's facilities, infrastructure, safety, security, parking, medical response, and operational support services effectively advance the mission and ministry of the organization. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, this position serves as a trusted advisor and member of the Executive Leadership Team, providing strategic direction for campus operations, capital planning, operational excellence, and organizational initiatives. At Venture Christian Church, the Senior Director of Facilities position is a licensed ministry position. This person will be considered a commissioned minister for tax purposes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in facilities, operations, construction, or organizational leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-million-dollar operating and capital budgets.
  • Proven success leading major construction projects, capital improvements, campus expansions, and organizational initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of facility operations, building systems, construction management, life safety systems, risk management, and emergency preparedness.
  • Experience overseeing security operations, parking management, emergency response planning, and operational support services.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans, establish organizational priorities, and successfully execute complex initiatives.
  • Strong financial management, budgeting, contract negotiation, and vendor management experience.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and organizational development skills with the ability to build and develop high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership, elders, staff, contractors, consultants, and external agencies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, project management software, facility management systems, and operational reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and lead with integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, providing strategic operational leadership and advising executive staff on campus operations, facilities, capital planning, safety, and organizational initiatives.
  • Develop and implement long-range operational strategies that align facilities, infrastructure, security, and campus operations with the mission and vision of Venture Christian Church.
  • Provide executive oversight for Facilities, Safety & Security, Parking, Medical Response, and other operational support departments.
  • Lead, coach, and develop department managers and staff while building a culture of servant leadership, accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.
  • Develop departmental goals, strategic initiatives, key performance indicators, and annual operating plans.
  • Oversee the planning, budgeting, execution, and closeout of major capital improvement projects, renovations, and campus expansion initiatives.
  • In partnership with the COO, serve as the primary operational liaison with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, municipalities, and regulatory agencies throughout the planning and construction process.
  • Provide executive oversight of all campus infrastructure, including building systems, utilities, life safety systems, grounds, parking, and campus assets.
  • Working with the COO, develop and administer multi-million-dollar operating and capital budgets while ensuring responsible stewardship of church resources.
  • Evaluate operational performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the guest experience across all campuses.
  • Oversee contract development, vendor selection, procurement processes, and long-term service agreements.
  • Oversee parking and traffic management strategies to support weekend services, conferences, school operations, and major church events.
  • Develop organizational policies, operational standards, and best practices that support ministry effectiveness, organizational consistency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with executive leadership, ministry leaders, school leadership, and external partners to align operational priorities with ministry objectives.
  • Present operational updates, capital project status, budget performance, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership, finance teams, elders, and other leadership groups as requested.
  • Provide operational oversight for campus safety, security, and emergency readiness, including security systems and coverage, access control, medical response, and emergency planning. Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency responders, and outside partners to ensure a safe and prepared campus environment.
  • Lead volunteer recruitment, identifying, recruiting, training, scheduling, and operational deployment for safety, security, medical response, parking, and other campus operations.
