The Sr. Director, North America Commercial Finance reports to the VP of Commercial Finance with direct business partner support to the SVP, President of North America. This role sits on the North America Commercial Leadership Team, providing effective financial leadership and partnering to the commercial team on accelerating growth and improving financial performance and business profitability. This role will sit hybrid in our Parsippany, NJ office

Requirements

  • BS in Finance, Accounting, or technical field (or corresponding relevant work experience).
  • 7+ years’ relevant work experience in Finance and Accounting.
  • Experience working with Commercial teams to deliver growth and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • In line with Corporate / Global expectations, define with the North America President the overall financial strategy to sustainably drive Sales and OIBT profitability.
  • Partner and guide implementation of financial and business strategy while working closely with the North America commercial business teams.
  • Pricing committee member within the region, ensuring alignment of appropriate price corridors and implementation by channel to the overall financial and business strategy.
  • Ensuring accurate financial reporting, internal controls compliance, and optimizing the balance sheet to drive improvements in free cash flow.
  • Preparing accurate sales forecasting leading to efficient inventory management, reviewing customer receivables, and reviewing business proposals for distributor payment terms and credit limits to reduce DSO, working closely with controllership and commercial operations teams.
  • Participating in the integrated Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring alignment between demand, supply and financial projections.
  • Monitor key business drivers and provide fact-based business partnering.
  • Actively participate in business decision making processes to support embecta growth by providing financial support to key business initiatives such as acquisitions, divestitures, business alliances, special projects, etc.
  • Lead all aspects of the Financial Reporting Processes.
  • Define and implement: efficient timely processes to meet Global Business deadlines. financial monitoring processes: set-up specific goals, establish and support the implementation of the measurement tools and systems, propose corrective actions.
  • Lead the month-end closing process aligned with GAAP principles and corporate accounting policies and practices, including SOX controls.
  • Liaise with internal and external audit for all Sarbanes-Oxley control related items during the monthly and quarterly close.
  • Ensure effective flow of information within the North America region and Global business and finance teams.
  • Develop and communicate standard operating financial data for sales and expenses, with presentation of P&L and balance sheet monthly results to the executive Operating Team.
  • Actively collaborate with the North America leadership team as well as embecta Global team in the development of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long Range strategic, operational, and financial plans.
  • Preparing and validating the quarterly forecasts for analyzing and monitoring financial performance
  • Analyze and assess risk and opportunities as well as mitigation plans to achieve goals; proactively working with commercial team to take potential corrective actions to address any gaps where possible or analyze and support funding needs to execute and realize identified opportunities.
  • Clearly articulating and presenting the forward-looking North America commercial forecasts to embecta global and executive Operating Team
  • Manages, educates, and provides coaching and formal feedback to staff / team of professionals.
